The Cyprus squad will be participating in the SAIL FIRST ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship), to be held between 13-20th July 2013 in Limassol. The event will take part in the sea area of the Cyprus Sports Organization’s Sailing Center.
The young Cypriot sailors are aware of the challenging task ahead of them, since this is an event for the global elite of young sailors. They are under rigorous training with the supervision of their coaches. Playing in home court is undoubtedly a motive for them.
“This is a very difficult effort for our young athletes since we have to deal with high level opponents. What’s more, this is our first participation in the 29ers and SL16 classes, while in class 420, we use 470 and this presents an additional challenge. “The young sailors are well prepared to represent Cyprus in the best possible light”, says John Papazoglou, coach of the Limassol Nautical Club.
