Princess Yachts unveiled the latest addition to the Y Class Motor Yacht range, the new Princess Y80 during the Cannes Yachting Festival 2023. The 25.5-metre Princess motor yacht Lumi made her world premiere at the show this week, joining an eight-yacht line-up. In addition the Princess F65 and S72 yachts made their show debuts, while Princess also announced the new X95 Vista project which will join the popular X Class Motor Yacht range.
The new Y80 yacht Lumi showcases a refined and timeless aesthetic. Lumi boasts exterior design imagined by Olesinski, while her interior was penned by Princess Yachts. The yacht was crafted in the brand’s home of Plymouth, England which is where around 80 percent of Princess’s yachts are built, priding themselves on the message “if it can be made in Plymouth it’s made in Plymouth”.
The new Y80 showcases an elegant exterior design, with a continuous window line graphic and sophisticated ‘S’ shaped hardtop, connecting the flybridge to the main deck. The new Y80 provides the owner with flexibility in terms of the yacht’s interior layout. A traditional U-shaped dining arrangement with storage is available; a central cockpit with free standing furniture for up to eight guests; or Princess’ new ‘infinity cockpit’ layout, equipped with electrically sliding seating and table mechanism, transforming a lounge area to a dining area.
Lumi’s main saloon offers an L-shaped sofa and a curved cream sofa surrounding a circular uniquely designed coffee table, with an adjacent dedicated dining area. A neutral colour palette extends across the entirety of the motor yacht, fusing crisp white fabrics with dark wooden accents and natural tones. Up to eight guests can be accommodated onboard, the Y80 yacht boasts a large master stateroom, equipped with a double bed and vanity area as well as four ensuite staterooms located on the lower deck.
The Y80 yacht Lumi showcases a flexible flybridge layout, displaying lounge and dining areas and large sunpads. In addition, an option flybridge crane is integrated and hidden from view beneath the aft sunpad. Lumi’s foredeck boasts a seating area for up to 10 guests, complete with twin coffee tables.
Regarding performance, the Princess Y80’s new hull is powered by twin MAN engines, providing her with a top speed of up to 32 knots.
In addition, the Princess X95 Vista was announced as a new project at the Princess Cannes Yachting Festival press conference. The new flagship of the X Class range is set to feature an open, panoramic bow structure and has been developed in collaboration with Olesinski and Italian design house Pininfarina. The project is an extension of the Princess X95.
Following an open living design, like her predecessor, the X95 Vista will showcase large living spaces. The flybridge and main deck interior space cover almost the entire length of the yacht, forming the Super Flybridge which is a defining quality of the X Class series.
The X95 Vista maintains many of the features, volume, and flexibility that made the original X95 successful but offers an enhanced exterior design and a new panoramic bow structure, bringing a contemporary feel to the flagship of the X Class.
