Sunreef Yachts has revealed further details about their plan to expand into the Middle East with a new shipyard based in Ras Al-Khaimah, the United Arab Emirates.
While the shipyard Sunreef Yachts already boasts two shipyards located in Gdansk, Poland, with over 125,0000 square-metres between them, the development of their latest Ras Al-Khaimah-based facility is currently underway.
Moreover, the UAE-based shipyard RAK Maritime City is currently collaborating with Sunreef Yachts to build the facility through a 360-degree style of yacht production, employing everything from carpentry, upholstery, a paint shop, stainless steel workshops, to the latest cutting-edge technology and machinery.
According to their latest updates, the first manufacturing and CNC halls are currently nearing completion.
Manufactured on a 65,000 square-metre land reserve, this up and coming facility has also promised to utilise pioneering technologies in luxury yacht construction, while simultaneously achieving sustainable standards of practice and energy efficiency.
With their line eco-responsible sailing and power luxury catamarans, the Sunreef Yachts Eco range, this shipyard has already demonstrated their ability to effectively manage energy, and make use of ethically-sourced finishing materials as well as electric propulsion and solar power to guarantee an environmentally conscious approach to yachting.
Furthermore, this facility is only scratching the surface of Sunreef Yachts’ global expansion plan. Besides strengthening the company’s relationship with the Middle East, the shipyard aims to open doors in the Asian and Australian markets via this project.
Not only that, but their goal is to exercise creativity and innovation when finding solutions to evolve the future of the yachting industry.
“I believe the RAK facility will be the perfect infrastructure to carry out the most advanced eco responsible yachting concepts,” said Munira Lapp, Sunreef Yachts Middle East Director.
