Britain’s best loved boating festival, the 2016 Southampton Boat Show, drew to a close on Sunday 25 September with organizers, exhibitors, sponsors and visitors all hailing the Show a great success. A quality attendance, thrilling atmosphere, fun attractions and entertainment along with great weather all resulted in significant sales for exhibitors.
Over 10,000 visitors enjoyed the chance to get out on the water across the 10 days. Visitors of all ages, with varying levels of experience, enjoyed options from Bumper Boats for young children right through to the unique chance of crewing a 72ft round the world ocean race yacht.
Visitors were able to view to an array of boats on the water and on the land, from the biggest boat at the Show, the Princess 30M measuring 30.45m to the smallest, an inflatable from Excel at just 1.6m. UK and international marine companies from the likes Oyster Yachts, Bavaria, Princess Yachts, Broom, Sunseeker International, Raymarine and Fischer Panda chose this world-leading stage as a platform for at least 33 global boat and product launches. Eight others made their European debuts, with 82 UK debuts and 40 new boats and products being welcomed over the duration of the Show. In total some 750 boats were on display, with over 330 of the world's leading sailboats and high-performance powerboats on the water.
