boot supports promising young sailors
More than 360 manufacturers of sailing boats and yachts, multihull boats, catamarans, day sailer boats and dinghies will be presenting their products at boot Düsseldorf from 21. to 29. January next year. This means that boot is the most important platform in the world for the presentation of all classes and kinds of sailing and that Halls 14 to 17 will be transformed into an enormous sailing centre.
It is no surprise that boot Director Petros Michelidakis is delighted about this positive development: “Nothing will be left to be desired in our sailing halls. A very wide range of boats will be show and we will even be able to record further growth in the multihill and day sailer sectors. As a passionate sailor, I am already looking forward to the active, exciting atmosphere and the sailing spirit in the halls.”
The market leaders Jeanneau, Bénéteau, Bavaria and Hanse will be represented again, highlighting interesting advances in their development operations. Other exhibitors include Hallberg Rassy, Dufour, X Yachts, Oyster CNB and Swan. A detailed summary of all the exhibitors and the boats they will be presenting at boot 2017 will be available at www.boot.de in the “Exhibitors and Products” section from the end of October onwards.
“boot is not just a platform for boats and yachts, however; it has also been committed to promoting sailing for many years now “, explains Petros Michelidakis. An excellent example of this is the Düsseldorf sailor Constanze Stolz, who is aiming to take part in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo in the 470 class and is now training at her new location in Kiel. boot Düsseldorf is one of her supporters and sponsors in this endeavour.
Support for sailing is a further emphasis at boot alongside presentation of the boots in the halls. Among other things, the trade fair sponsors the traditional regattas in Kiel and Travemünde, for example. Every year, the boot sailing school attracts hundreds of newcomers to the water in Hall 14, where huge wind machines make sure there is a good breeze. The 4,000th budding sailor in total was welcomed there at boot 2016.
