German superyacht builder Lürssen has announced the launch of project Gatsby. The 74m motoryacht, christened Aurora, was launched on March 11. Her delivery is planned for early summer.
Responsible for the concept as well as the exterior and interior design is Winch Design who has given the yacht a timelessly classical profile.
Featuring six decks, Aurora is a voluminous yacht and boasts a lot of space for the guests’ entertainment and well-being while still looking very elegant and classy, with sleek lines.
Aurora has been built to meet all of the owners’ requirements, creating a very private yacht with individual needs to the highest technical standard combined with many practical and useful features.
Moran Yacht & Ship sold the project and managed the build.
Aurora will be the third of four deliveries due to be made by the German shipyard this year. The first of the four deliveries will be Project Mistral. The 104m (341.5ft) vessel has been pencilled by Espen Oeino with interiors by Francois Zuretti.
The second and largest delivery of 2017 will the 123m (403.9ft) Project Jupiter. She has a distinctive exterior designed by H2 Yacht Design and interiors by March & White.
Completing Lürssen’s 2017 programme is an 85m (279ft) yacht set to be delivered in the autumn.
On the refit front Lürssen has reported that this is now a core business for the company. Over the past winter eight yachts between 50m (164ft) and 124m (407ft) have stopped at Lurssen’s facilities for modifications and maintenance works. These include Lady Moura, Alamshar, Pacific and Katara.
Following the acquisition of Blohm + Voss, Lürssen now offers five shipyards which provide capacity for refit and repair work including several dry docks and covered shed.
