The Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta 2017 is set to take place on May 30 - June 3, with four days of racing on the waters of La Maddalena archipelago, off Porto Cervo in Sardinia.
Established in 2008, and organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS) and Boat International Media, the annual Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta has become a highlight in the Mediterranean calendar. Already this year's edition promises to attract an even larger fleet of the world’s most beautiful sailing yachts keen to take part.
Competitors are placed into three categories where vessels of 45 meters and over will be classed together, while performance yachts and smaller yachts will compete in their own categories. All yachts must race according to the ORCS rating system introduced in 2015.
Besides high performance racing, the 10th edition of the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta will host an exciting array quayside events ranging from after-race drinks to formal dinners and beach parties on pure white sands. The final prize-giving ceremony will take place in Porto Cervo’s prestigious Piazza Azzurra.
Last year’s regatta saw 45m Saudade with Albert Büll at the helm winning Class A and taking home the Silver Jubilee Cup.
