From 20. to 28. January 2018 it will be time to experience 360° water sports again at boot Düsseldorf. The major windsurfing manufacturers will be presenting everything that surfers cold possibly desire in the newly designed exhibition hall 8a with its 13,000 m² of space. Amateur and professional windsurfers will be meeting there to talk about the latest trends in the community. Manufacturers who are regular boot exhibitors, like Starboard, Severne, BIC, Gun Sails and Mistral, are being joined again in Düsseldorf by the other heavyweights of the industry. North, ION, Fanatic, Patrik, Nove Nove and Naish have confirmed that they will be participating so far. All trend sport operations, i.e. information, advice and sales, are being concentrated for the first time in the large Hall 8a right next to the North Entrance. This has also made it possible to extend the pool by 15 metres and to optimise “THE WAVE” standing wave. The highlights this year: the first indoor tow-in windsurfing show in the world, surfing on “The Wave” for visitors and the boot Düsseldorf SUP Wave Masters for professional competitors. Numerous items on the programme will be focussing on foiling, the new windsurfing trend, while there will be a daring experiment in the pool too. Come and see for yourself...
Stars and experts
The whole of the surfing community is meeting at boot Düsseldorf again this year. Such well-known players as Björn Dunkerbeck, Philip Köster, Bernd Flessner, Vincent Langer and Sonni Hönscheid will be appearing on the stages. The latest windsurfing trends are being presented by the manufacturers’ product managers and by experts from the German water sport schools association (VDWS). Surfing schools and water sports locations will be whetting the appetite for both new and well-known travel destinations in gripping presentations. You can, incidentally, book trips directly at boot too and can take this opportunity to talk to staff from the locations concerned to find out which boards you can use when you are on holiday there.
VDWS taking part again with the kite and windsurfing simulator
The German water sport schools association (VDWS) is making the kite and windsurfing simulator available again for visitors 14 years old and older. This is where you can get detailed power jibe explanations or find out what it is like to jump with a kite on your feet.
Important news for bargain hunters
Many of the shops in Hall 8a are selling last season’s equipment at attractive prices. It is worth taking a look at Hall 12 too; in the Beach Life Zone there, you will find the right gear for your next surfing trip.
Relaxing beats and delicious drinks
The music in the hall will start to get somewhat louder at 17:00 every day, when demand for the numerous seats in the lounge will be increasing. The perfect end to the day: simply relaxing in a deck chair with a cocktail in your hand.
Get wet yourself!
You want even more action than just paddling or wakeboarding on the pool? Then demonstrate your surfing skills too! At boot 2018, THE WAVE will have two adjustable heights: a more gentle option for beginners and about 1.50 high and faster for experienced surfers.
Last year, about 1,500 visitors tried out the wave designed by citywave® under the watchful eye of the experts. The slots for visitors can be booked as of December 2017. Further information can be found at thewave.boot.de. You do not need to register in advance for the flatwater pool.
Here are the most important facts again at a glance:
Incidentally: the parking lot P1 at the Caravan Centre is the right address for everyone coming with their own RV. Electricity, water and garbage disposal are no problem here and the distance from bed to board could not be shorter.
