Italian designer Roberto Curtó has revealed his latest concept, a 63.2 metre superyacht design inspired by the physical characteristics of the cuttlefish.
The all-aluminium Hypnosquid design has been inspired by the “elegant, fast and agile” nature of the sea creature, Curtó said.
One noticeable exterior detail is the number of coloured LED windows, which represent the Hypnosquid’s eyes and puncture the main deck.
“Hypnosquid has really bright interiors, thanks to its big windows and “glass eye” windows in the saloon,” Curtó explained.
Accommodation is for a total of 10 guests, with the owner’s “duplex” set across two decks. The bedroom is located upstairs and the lounge and library are downstairs. Located forward, the suite also incorporates a full beam lobby and a garden.
The guest cabins meanwhile sit on the lower deck, alongside accommodation for 12 crew.
A full beam lounge and games room on the main deck features screens enabling the games room to be sectioned off in privacy. A dining area for a total of 12 guests is also on the main deck, nearby to the galley so guests can watch the chef at work.
On the upper deck is Hypnosquid's wheelhouse and wellness area aft with a massage centre, gym and cinema room. A Jacuzzi meanwhile is located on deck while the swimming pool sits aft and includes a waterfall feature.
Intended for Mediterranean and Caribbean cruising, but also equipped for transatlantic crossings, the Hypnosquid will be powered by 4 x 16V 2000 M96L engines. It will have a range of 3,000 nautical miles and a top speed of 30 knots.
The 1,050GT yacht also features a 13.7 metre beam and 2.9 metre draft.
