Cheoy Lee has launched the first unit in the Cheoy Lee 130 explorer series from its facility in Zhuhai, China. The 39.7-metre yacht is scheduled for delivery at the close of 2024.
The model has been designed and built to "handle the demands of bluewater adventures around the globe" and features robust lines by American firm Overing Yacht Designs. Key numbers include an 8.5-metre beam, a volume of 420GT and a draught of 2.3 metres.
Accommodation is across five en suite guest cabins, including a full-beam owner's suite on the main deck. There are further quarters for up to five crew. Interiors have been styled by Sylvia Bolton Design and are said to incorporate "rich woodwork, soft textures and eye-catching accents", though imagery is undisclosed. Both Overing and Bolton have previously worked with Cheoy Lee on the 31.9-metre Wreckless, which was delivered in 2016 as the only Global 104 model.
According to the shipyard, the social hub is likely to be the covered flybridge, arranged with a bar and an al fresco dining table. A foredeck Jacuzzi, a "cocktail" skylounge and dedicated tender and water toy storage completes the list of leisure amenities on board.
Powered by twin Caterpillar C18 engines, the model is predicted to achieve a top speed of 13 knots.
