During the evening of Sunday, 24^th February 2013, unknown intruders attempted to steal navigational equipment from the vessel of former President Glafkos Klirides. During the burglary, extensive damage was caused. On the following Monday morning, the former president of the Republic went with his garrison for hisdaily ride in his boat ‘Glaucus’. But upon reaching Larnaca marina, it was noticed that the vessel had been broken into and was damaged, mainly by cutting cables where the thief had attempted to steal electronic instruments. Larnaca Police department was contacted who collected several items of evidence from the scene that may lead to the perpetrators. The boat was repaired on the same day and President Klirides enjoyed his daily ride in his Boat.
