Three years after it was last held, the Beirut Boat Show once again brought some dazzle to the Beirut seafront, filling Zaitunay Bay(Solidere marina) with everything, ranging from glittering 100-foot yachts down to slim speed launches.
Capitalizing on the great success generated on the previous versions of the show, the 2017 Beirut International Boat Show witnesses the participation of additional leading global and regional manufacturers and exhibitors in addition to specialized local companies considering the show as the “Partner of choice” and the suitable platform to launch from Beirut - Lebanon into the world organized by Lebanese Yacht Federation(LYF).
As the previous versions, Beirut International Boat Show main objective will remain supporting Beirut’s National Vision to position Lebanon as a world class tourism hub for business, leisure, culture, education and sport.
This year’s show boasts an additional maritime art exhibition as well as live music and activities.
The art exhibition includes Christian Francis’ HMS Victoria findings. The Lebanese-Austrian Francis and his team discovered the former flagship of the British Mediterranean Fleet off the coast of Lebanon in 2004, 111 years after the Victoria was lost.
The show’s “Lifestyle” section is home to boutique tents for high-end car dealerships, wineries and other luxury purveyors.
The show also offers outdoor activity companies a chance to showcase their products.
“This event also helps people learn about sailing,” said Lebanese Yacht Federation member Jean-Louis Zabbal.
Zabbal then added that the sport’s increase in popularity has allowed the LYF to hold a race in August, in collaboration with the Cypriot Yacht Federation.
The show is not only an opportunity for maritime enthusiasts and businesses. Local companies are also able to take advantage.
The International Boat and Super Yacht Show opened Saturday and will run through May 24.
